Swiss whiskey refers to the typical North American rye whiskeys, which by law must contain at least 51% rye and be aged in new charred oak barrels. Langatun Distillery goes one better here and distills its whiskey from 100% locally grown rye. This is bottled anew every year as a vintage edition after at least four years of storage, comes from a single barrel in each case and is diluted to a drinking strength of 44% vol. The result is a smooth whiskey with notes of caramel, vanilla and fruit.
